A full screen window finally reads like one

• In a wide or full screen window, the reading room now grows with it: the type scales up and the column widens with it, instead of a small fixed column floating in a void.
• The page sits centred in the pane in every design language. It used to hang off the left rail with the rest of the window standing empty.
• Add to Calendar and Add to Reminders now sit beside the catch they act on. In a full screen window they used to hug the far edge, half a metre from the words.
• The Desk's masthead, tabs and figures rail all follow the same scale, so the workbench reads as one instrument at any window size.

Your licence answers for itself

• Your licence now checks in with the server every few days. A Mac you freed from your account page locks itself here within days, says exactly why, and offers the way back in. Being offline never locks anything: no answer is never treated as a refusal, and a Mac that stays offline keeps working.
• A licence claimed by signing in now unlocks Minutes immediately, instead of after the next relaunch.
• A Google or Apple sign-in that fails at the last step, like a licence already on its limit of Macs, now says so plainly instead of a browser round trip that ends in silence.
• A clock that jumped forward and was corrected can no longer end your free trial for good. Minutes notices the shape, asks the server to arbitrate, and the trial comes back on its own.

Minutes remembers who you are

• Minutes now remembers who you are signed in as after you quit and reopen it. Some screens used to treat you as signed out until you signed in again, and the free trial could quietly fail to start itself for the same reason.
• There is a Sign out button in Settings now, next to your email. Signing out keeps your licence and your notes; it only unlinks this Mac from the account.
• Sign-ins through Google and Apple now store your address in one canonical form, so capitalisation can never lock you out of what you own.

Sign in with Google or Apple

• You can now sign in with Google or Apple instead of an email and a password. Your browser opens, you pick your account, and Minutes unlocks itself.
• Both of them land on the same Crest account, so your licence follows you whichever you use, and the password you already have keeps working.
• The buttons are wherever you could already sign in, including the screen you see when recording is locked.

Minutes checks in on your licence, quietly

• Minutes now refreshes your licence in the background when it happens to be online. You will never see it, and it never interrupts a recording.
• If it has not been able to check in for a long time, Minutes keeps working exactly as it does today and simply mentions it once. Nothing locks, and nothing is taken away while you are offline.

Moving your licence between Macs, handled properly

• Deactivating now hands the licence back to the server rather than just naming it, so only the Mac that actually holds it can release it.
• If a licence has been moved between more Macs than it can cover, Minutes says so plainly and points you at support, instead of sending you to deactivate somewhere it would not help.

A task only gets a due date if you gave it one

• A caught task no longer arrives with a due date nobody said. If you say you will do something and never say when, it is now filed with no date instead of quietly landing on tomorrow.
• Found by running Minutes over a real recording and reading every catch it made, which is a check that now runs on every release.

Action items are actually caught now

• Add to Calendar and Add to Reminders now appear. If you said "tomorrow we have a meeting at 10 PM" or "I'll send the deck", Minutes catches it. This was broken, and the honest version is that it almost never fired: a shipping bug threw away the evidence every catch needs, so the whole thing was switched off in the app while the tests all passed.
• One reply in five from the on-device model was not readable, and every one of those was reported to you as "nothing was said". Minutes now asks again before believing a blank.
• A caught meeting keeps the time you actually said. A meeting agreed for 10 PM used to be able to land at midnight.
• A meeting you cancel during the call stays cancelled, and confirming a time no longer files a second copy of the same meeting.
• A catch is named in the words you used. Nothing reaches Calendar or Reminders until you press Add, exactly as before.

• The price came down to $29.99, or $49.99 for Minutes, Take and Crest together. If you already bought Minutes, nothing changes and nothing is owed.
• The price shown inside the app now always comes from the same place the checkout charges from, so the two can no longer disagree.

Deleting a meeting, properly

• Deleting a meeting now removes it from the suite too, so the notch stops showing what was said in a meeting you deleted.
• Undo works even if you have recorded again since. It used to fail whenever a new meeting took the deleted one's name, which is exactly what happens when you record twice in a minute.
• Delete two meetings in a row and both can be undone. The second delete used to silently drop the first one's Undo.
• Command-Delete no longer trashes the selected meeting while you are typing in the search box, and holding it down cannot walk through your library.
• If a recording cannot be moved to the Trash with its note, Minutes says so instead of leaving the file behind in silence.
• The recording strip always goes away with its recording. It could be left floating over every Space with nothing in it.
• A meeting you deleted stays deleted: an interrupted session is no longer refiled as a new "Recovered meeting" on the next launch.

Settings finally tells you where you stand

• Minutes never showed you what you owned. There was no place to see how long your trial had left, whether you were signed in, or what Minutes costs. Settings opens on all of it now, and the days remaining are the first thing on the page.
• The price is on the button. Buy Minutes now names the actual amount, read from the server so it can never drift from the site.
• Unlocking is signing in. Your licence lives on your account, so it follows you to any Mac, and a forgotten password is one reset away.
• The licence key field is gone. Keys still exist behind the scenes and support can still use one, but nothing asks you to paste anything.
• The free 7 day trial starts from your account rather than from this particular Mac.
• A Crest or Take licence entered into Minutes used to fail with nothing useful, after quietly using up one of that licence's two Macs. It now says which app the licence is for, and costs you nothing.
• Fixed: the unlock screen ended with "No account needed. Your key lives on this Mac", which had stopped being true on both counts.

Minutes updates itself now

• Minutes checks crestnotch.app for a new version a few times a day and installs it when you say so. Until now the only way to get a newer version was to download the whole app again.
• Ask whenever you like. Settings has a Check for updates button that says exactly where the check got to, and so does the menu bar panel.
• An update will never interrupt a meeting. If a new version is ready while you are recording, Minutes holds it, tells you it is waiting, and installs it after you stop.
• What's new in Minutes, in Settings: every release, version by version, so a version you skipped is still readable.
• When a check cannot finish, the app says why in plain words: no connection, the update list did not answer, or Minutes is running from the disk image and cannot replace itself there.

Your trial, said out loud, and a licence that applies itself

• Minutes now tells you where your free trial stands, every time you open the panel, instead of going quiet for a week and then asking for money.
• Signing in is all it takes. Buy Minutes and you get one activation link: choose a password there, sign in here, and your licence applies itself. No key to copy.
• Buy on a Mac that is already signed in and Minutes unlocks itself the next time you open it, with nothing else to do.
• Signing in before you have bought anything now works properly: it links this Mac to your account and says so, rather than looking like it failed.

Minutes 1.0: private meeting notes, now yours to keep

• The first public release. Minutes is part of the Crest Suite, a one time purchase with a free 7 day trial and no subscription.
• Sign in with the email you bought with, or paste your license key, and Minutes activates on up to 2 Macs. After that it runs fully offline, like everything else here.
• Crest can start and file a Minutes recording from the notch, so a meeting gets captured without you leaving what you were doing.
• Everything still runs on device: your audio, transcripts and summaries never leave this Mac.

A window worth looking at, and three ways to look at it

• The whole app was redesigned. Pick the one that suits how you work, in Settings: Two Lanes reads a conversation as a two sided score, The Record sets a meeting as a document with notes in the margin, and The Desk puts the audio and a rail of real figures on screen.
• Every meeting in the list now carries the shape of the conversation itself, drawn from who actually spoke and when, so a nine second scrap never looks like an hour long call.
• Catches moved out of the bottom of the note. They are the first thing under the title now, with the buttons that file them to Calendar and Reminders.
• The player draws the real audio, with your side and their side on their own lanes, and marks where each catch and each note of yours landed. Click the shape to jump there.
• A People view: everyone you have met, when you last spoke, and what is still open from the meetings you were both in.
• While recording, two separate meters now show your side and their side. One combined bar could look healthy while your mic was delivering silence.
• Light and dark are both first class in all three designs.

Recordings you can actually hear

• Their side of a call is now truly in the saved audio. A format mismatch silently dropped it from every recording.
• If your mic reaches Minutes as pure silence (muted, or held by another call app such as WhatsApp), the app now warns you while recording and notes it when filing, instead of saving a silent file.
• When the mic goes quiet mid-meeting, Minutes rebuilds the audio engine once to try to win it back.
• Recording survives the input device changing mid-meeting (a headset connecting, a call app rerouting audio).
