Copyright and Abuse Reports

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Drop and Crest Cloud let people share files with links. This page says how to report a link that breaks the law or our terms, and what we do next. Questions? Email contact@crestnotch.app.

We can't see what is in a file or a link. If you believe a Drop or a Crest Cloud link shares your copyrighted work without permission, send a notice to Crest's designated agent: contact@crestnotch.app.

A notice needs:

What we do

We take the link down promptly and tell the account by email. The account can send a counter-notice to the same address, with the same details plus consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where they live, or of any court where we may be found if they live outside the US. If the person who sent the notice does not tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have gone to court, we may put the link back.

Repeat infringers

An account that gets three valid notices that were not countered loses Drop and Crest Cloud sharing, and we may close it. Its owner can still download everything they keep for 30 days.

Malware, phishing and other abuse

For anything else, such as malware, phishing or harassment, use the Report link on the link's page, or email contact@crestnotch.app. We reply within 2 working days.

Content that exploits children

We report it to NCMEC as the law requires, hold the account, and keep what the law tells us to keep. We never decrypt files; we report the link and the account.

In the EU (Digital Services Act)

Anyone in the EU can send a notice of illegal content to contact@crestnotch.app with why they think it is illegal, the exact link, their name and email (not needed for child-abuse reports), and a statement that the notice is accurate and made in good faith. We confirm we received it, decide promptly, and tell both the sender and the account what we decided, why, and how to contest it. The same address is our single point of contact for EU authorities.
