Why the bot costs you the room
A notetaker bot is a participant with a company name. On a discovery call it is a small distraction. On a call with procurement or security it is a question you have to answer, and if the NDA forbids sharing the conversation with third parties, the honest answer is that you are already sharing it, with the vendor whose servers hold the transcript.
Some prospects decline the bot on the spot. Some are polite and say less for the rest of the call. Either way you lose the thing the notes were meant to keep.
What you get without one
Minutes records your microphone and the call audio as two channels, so what the prospect said and what you said stay under the right names, on headphones or not. The summary comes out with the decisions and the next steps. A promise like "I'll send the pricing on Monday" becomes a reminder with an Add button, and nothing is written to Reminders until you press it.

Where it does not compete
Minutes is one rep's own notes. It does not sync to a CRM, it has no team library, no call scoring, no coaching view and no manager dashboard. Gong, Chorus and their peers do all of that, for a team, in the cloud, and if your organisation wants them, this is not the tool that replaces them. Consent
Recording a call has rules that differ by country and state, and some need everyone's consent. Minutes does not announce itself. Say that you are taking notes, the way you would say it with a notebook open, and you are on the same footing as before, minus the bot.

Can I take sales call notes without a bot joining?

Is a cloud notetaker a problem under an NDA?
